SEO and AI search
Found on Google, and quotable by the AI assistants
JM Marketing does search engine optimization for small business websites: the page titles and descriptions people see in Google, the structured data search engines and AI assistants read, the Google Business Profile, and the technical checks that decide whether a site can be found at all. It is run by Jeff McDaniel. Call or text 662-422-1809.
What the SEO work covers
Most of what decides whether a local business is found happens on its own website and its Google listing. This is the work JM Marketing does on both.
A title that says what you do, where you are and why to choose you, in under sixty characters. A description that reads like a sentence.
Exactly one structured-data listing per site, with your real name, phone, hours, services and address or towns served.
A page for each place your customers search from, written about that place, not the same page with the name swapped.
Category, hours, photos and services kept correct and in step with the website.
A working sitemap, a robots.txt that doesn’t block search or AI crawlers, a valid certificate, and no page accidentally set to “do not index”.
No placeholder phone numbers, no leftover demo text, no contact form that accepts messages and throws them away.
How it is checked
Every site JM Marketing hosts is measured against the same twenty-one checks, in four groups: can it be found, can it be understood, can it be quoted, and does it actually work. The full list is here.
People increasingly ask an assistant instead of typing a search. Whatever answer comes back was read off somebody’s website. The work makes sure the crawlers those assistants use are not turned away, and that the site states plainly who the business is and what it does. What that involved across thirty-three sites.
A page can rank and still get no clicks if its title gives nobody a reason to choose it. Titles and descriptions are the cheapest work in search, and the first thing looked at. An example from this site.
For a business that serves several towns, each town needs to be named on the site in the words its customers search with. See the areas JM Marketing serves for how that looks.
Who does the work
JM Marketing is Jeff McDaniel: more than 35 years in broadcasting and marketing, over twenty years building websites for businesses around Tupelo, Mississippi, and now based in Malvern, Arkansas. The same person who builds and hosts the site does the SEO, so nothing falls between two companies.
SEO is part of the wider small business services: design, hosting, maintenance and email. The sites JM Marketing builds and hosts are on Our Work.
